Our commitment to Garden accessibility:

We understand that change can be challenging and we remain committed to ensuring the Gardens are accessible to everyone. Kingwood will continue to offer free general admission on Free First Mondays, and during our free summer concert series, Live on the Lawn, on Thursday evenings in July. Family Day will also return on Sunday, August 4 with engaging activities with community partners and free admission from 10am – 4pm.

We are excited to announce the addition of new free admission days including:

  • Arbor Day – April 26
  • National Public Gardens Day – May 10
  • Grandparents Day – September 8
  • Veterans Day – November 11

We will also celebrate the changing of the seasons in the gardens with new half price admission days:

  • Summer Solstice – June 20
  • Autumnal Equinox – September 22
  • Spring Equinox – March 20 (beginning in 2025)

Why admission is changing:

Kingwood is diligently managing expenses as we navigate the escalating costs of operating our beautiful gardens. Just like businesses in the private sector, we’re facing significant increases in garden resources, utilities, fuel, equipment, and staffing expenses. However, despite these challenges, we remain committed to enhancing your experience at Kingwood.

We’re dedicated to expanding our educational programs and guest experiences, while also maintaining beloved events like Christmas at Kingwood, the Great Pumpkin Glow, and Wine Walk. Additionally, we’re planning to introduce more exhibits to enrich your visits. Above all, we’re focused on preserving and restoring our historic garden estate for future generations to enjoy.

Thank you for your continued support as we strive to uphold Kingwood’s mission of honoring our past while growing for the future. Your understanding is truly appreciated as we work to ensure Kingwood remains a cherished destination for all.
