About Kingwood Center Gardens
Dedicated in 1953, Kingwood is renowned for its distinctive floral displays, unique plants, woodland trails, historic mansion and gardens, display greenhouse, duck pond, and peacocks. Signature events like Wine Walk, the Great Pumpkin Glow and Christmas at Kingwood delight tens of thousands of guests annually while providing vital support for this non-profit organization.
The Seasonal Gardener provides a positive transformative guest experience by assisting Kingwood’s gardening staff in fostering their garden areas. This includes assisting in planting, weeding, mulching, watering as well as interacting with the public and volunteers as they visit the garden. The seasonal gardener will work on rotation with regular garden staff in providing weekend coverage of plant needs in the garden.
The Assistant Gardener performs an important role in assisting horticultural staff in routine and skilled garden maintenance tasks in any garden area where help is needed.
In addition, the Assistant Gardener will aid in plant records and plant labeling.
The Assistant Gardener may be assigned other work in a manner that meets the needs of Kingwood Center Gardens.
A Groundskeeper promotes positive transformative guest experiences, fostering the grounds and gardens and assists with the installation and maintenance of new garden areas.
The Groundskeeper is responsible for fostering and installing lawns, edging, and fertilizing as well as mulching and assisting in garden areas as needed. This position plays a key role in the care of wildlife and maintenance of the Duck and Nature Ponds as well.
The Seasonal Groundskeeper provides a positive transformative guest experience through assisting with the installation and maintenance of new gardens and grounds areas. This position mainly assists the Grounds staff maintaining lawns, edging, and fertilizing as well as assisting in garden areas.
Safety & Security Team Member
The Safety and Security Team Member promotes a transformative guest experience, providing a safe and secure work and the guest environment through implementing daily safety and security procedures. They ensure the safety and security of all people and property associated with Kingwood through daily monitoring, patrolling for irregularities, and inspection of security and alarm systems.
Seasonal Custodial Team Member
Custodial Team members help to create the foundation for our guests by detailing Kingwood Center Gardens public and event spaces. The custodial crew will maintain beautiful spaces for our guests and incorporate Kingwood Center Gardens standards of quality.
Retail Seasonal Associate
The Garden Shop Associate assists with day-to-day retail operations at Kingwood Center Gardens which consist of the indoor gift shop area, the retail greenhouse, and the outdoor plant sales area. This position works closely with both the Horticulture and Visitors Service Departments to confirm that the needs of Kingwood Center Gardens retail, staffing, and open hours are met. It is also the goal of this position to confirm guests are provided excellent customer service while shopping our retail spaces.
Setup Team Lead
The setup team lead position is the point person overseeing the detailing of Kingwood venues which create the baseline for transformative guest experiences in those event spaces. The setup team lead builds a beautiful space for each daily and special event, following client’s wishes and incorporating Kingwood Center Gardens quality standards of elegance and class. Attention to detail regarding event setup punch lists are a must in this position while providing excellent customer service to all garden guests and garden staff.
