Kingwood Center Garden’s Head Gardener promotes positive transformative guest experiences, overseeing the daily fostering of outdoor horticultural displays.
The head gardener leads the design, installation and fostering of seasonal horticulture displays. This position provides routine supervision of the full-time and seasonal gardening staff and volunteers while collaborating with other Horticulture team members. The Head Gardener applies standard, as well as specialized horticultural practices including, but not limited to landscape/garden design, organic and permaculture practices, IPM, use of irrigation systems, weeding, pruning, planting and watering. The Head Gardener provides experience, expertise, and professionalism, as a teacher and coach to staff and garden guest alike.
Setup Team Member
Setup Team members detailing Kingwood venues creates the baseline for transformative guest experiences in those event spaces. The setup team builds a beautiful space for each daily and special event, following client’s wishes and incorporating Kingwood Center Gardens quality standards of elegance and class.
Attention to detail regarding event setup punch lists are a must in this position while providing excellent customer service to all garden guests and garden staff.
This part time, paid internship opportunity is available to college students who have a demonstrated knowledge of and interest in historical preservation, museum curation and the hospitality industry.
The History Internship position is designed to provide practical experience, with supervision from the Visitors Services Director and Admissions Supervisor, in all components of the Visitors Services department with a strong focus on preservation and historical interpretation. This internship will have the opportunity to lead tours, assist in the restoration and curation of Kingwood Hall, a popular tourist destination, and work broadly with multiple departments at Kingwood Center Gardens to gain a broad understanding of how a non-profit estate garden operates.
Public Functions Coordinator
The Public Functions Coordinator promotes a positive transformative guest experience, creating meaningful and memorable public events. The Coordinator leads the planning and coordination of all public Kingwood Center Garden events. The Public Functions Coordinator will work with all departments at Kingwood Center Gardens, select vendors, and our premiere catering team.
Kingwood Center Garden’s Retail Lead ensures positive transformative shopping experience for each Garden Shop customer, creating an immersive shopping atmosphere. This is accomplished through high quality and excellent merchandise presentation and customer engagement and service. The Retail Lead is responsible for the operations and staff of the retail sales floor.
Custodial Team Member
The Custodial Team member provides high quality guest experiences of all indoor facilities through following daily cleaning regimes, meeting Kingwood’ standards of quality. They occasionally offer support to venue setup team members in setup/tear down of venues.
Attention to detail regarding custodial needs are a must for this position.
