Summer Floral Design

Head Gardener Bill Collins will present a Summer Floral Design workshop on Thursday, August 5, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.  Bill is a talented designer who has taught numerous floral design workshops.  His program will present a variety of designs suitable for different locations in and around the home, with flowers found in many home gardens and utilizing containers of various sizes and shapes. A container and flowers will be provided for participants to make a design to take home.  See Education for additional information.

Percy Hall Concert

The Percy Hall Orchestra will present a concert on Friday, July 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Courtyard.  The orchestra will perform big band popular music and jazz standards from the 1940's, with vocals by popular pianist Lanny Gooding.  Saxophones are Ralph Brown, Chris Herald and Mark Maxwell, with Rollie Harper on drums, Paul Martin on bass and Percy on alto sax and trumpet.  The band produces a big band sound with  just 7 members, with songs that will take you back to memories of tunes by Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and many more.

On Thursdays, through the month of August, Kingwood will be staying open until 8:30 p.m. so that visitors can enjoy one of the best times for any garden. Come end your day on Sunset Thursdays with a relaxing stroll through Kingwood's gardens in the gentle light of the twilight. Admission/parking will be free after 6:00 p.m.
