Accessibility at Kingwood
Kingwood is a historic garden estate on the National Register of Historic Places. Unfortunately, not all facilities and gardens are able to be modified to allow access of all guests. We encourage guests to bring their own mobility assistance devices if you have one available. Walkers, wheelchairs, and single-rider mobility scooters are permitted. Powered vehicles such as Segways, golf carts, 2-wheeled scooters, or other motorized devices are not allowed.
Kingwood has manual wheelchairs and one electric scooter available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Museums for All
Kingwood Center Gardens is a proud member of Museums for All! Through this program, those receiving food assistance (SNAP benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 500 museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT card.
Present your EBT card and Photo ID to receive admission for up to 5 people from the same household at the reduced price of $1 per person. Children 6 and under are always free. This offer does not apply for special ticketed events.
Reciprocal Admissions
Kingwood Members have the opportunity to enjoy two reciprocal admission programs!
All membership levels have access to the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admissions Program. Members of gardens that participate in the RAP program may receive free admission to Kingwood when they present their current membership card at the Welcome Desk. In some cases, a 90-mile exclusion may apply. We suggest calling ahead or visiting the RAP website to confirm eligibility before your visit.
Members with a membership level of Donor or above receive additional reciprocal admission opportunities with the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association®. The NARM Association is an extensive network of hundreds of cultural institutions across North America that connects their memberships for access to arts, science, history, botanical gardens and more. To receive NARM benefits at Kingwood, make sure to present your membership card with an official NARM sticker at the Welcome Desk, Gateway Café, and the Garden & Gift Shop.
