Setup Team Lead

Reports to: Venue Custodian Supervisor

Classification: Hourly, Full time – in season, Part time – off season

Job Overview: The Setup Team Lead position is the point person overseeing the detailing of Kingwood venues which create the baseline for transformative guest experiences in those event spaces.  The Setup Team Lead builds a beautiful space for each daily and special event, following client’s wishes and incorporating Kingwood Center Gardens quality standards of elegance and class.

Attention to detail regarding event setup punch lists are a must in this position while providing excellent customer service to all garden guests and garden staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes point when leading set up crew for set up, tear down, cleaning, and other needs
  • Works with the Venue Custodian Supervisor to set weekly schedules for event set up crew based on the needs of upcoming events
  • Checks each event or rental venue for cleanliness at the end of each event or rental
  • Assures that the events crew are properly setting up, tearing down, cleaning, and storing event equipment for both private and public Kingwood events
  • Set up/tear down event items used for private venue rentals such as tables, chairs and linens for indoor and outdoor areas
  • Work with other departments for set up needs
  • Provides excellent customer service to all Kingwood departments to assure needs of the organization are met
  • Perform minor maintenance activities
  • Notify supervisor of deficiencies, needs for repairs, and supply stock needs
  • Works regularly scheduled shifts each week with custodial duties as determined by the Venue Custdoian Supervisor
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Previous wedding and event setup experience preferred
  • Ability to lift chairs, tables and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to work on your feet for most of the day
  • Ability to relate to persons of all ages, diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities including staff, visitors, and volunteers


  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass drug test
  • A high school diploma or higher is preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
