Safety and Security Team Lead

Classification: Hourly, Full-time, Regular

Job Overview: The Safety and Security Team Lead promotes a transformative guest experience, providing a safe and secure work and the guest environment through implementing daily safety and security procedures. They take a point, ensuring the safety and security of all people and property associated with Kingwood through daily monitoring, patrolling for irregularities, and inspection of security and alarm systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Secures premises and personnel by opening/closing and patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitted entry points
  • Maintains a safe campus environment through monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
  • Prevents losses and damage, reporting irregularities; informs violators of policy and procedures; monitoring trespassers as a part of an emergency service’s response
  • Documents observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviews witnesses; obtains signatures to complete incident reports
  • Controls traffic by directing drivers
  • Serves as point of contact with emergency services for specific onsite incidents
  • Maintains organization’s stability and reputation while complying with legal requirements
  • Maintains the inventory of first aid stations
  • Maintains a positive, collaborative and solution-orientated demeanor when requesting to or serving staff and guests
  • All other duties as assigned


  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions in real-time
  • Ability to collaborate with persons of all ages, diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities including staff, guests, and volunteers
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present complex information to staff and guests
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in dynamic or stressful circumstances
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally and work long periods on one’s feet
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and standard office equipment, as well as electronic, assess and surveillance systems
  • Must be first aid and CPR certified or willing to get certification
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends


  • At least one year of experience in safety and security positions preferred
  • A high school diploma or GED required
  • Positive, guest engaged focus
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug test
