Facilities and Maintenance Assistant

Classification: Hourly, Part-time

Job Overview: The Facilities and Maintenance Assistant ensures Kingwood Center Gardens’ physical plant, infrastructure, and other systems associated with a transformative guest experience are in good working order. The Assistant supports the daily and special project operational priorities of the Facilities and Maintenance Department and Kingwood as a whole.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete routine preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on Kingwood Center’s various building and grounds infrastructure systems and features
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic repairs to KCG’s fleet and machinery
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop
  • Assist in maintaining the necessary inventory of tools and parts sufficient to complete routine operational tasks
  • Ensures a safe working environment while completing work on campus and that all safety protocols are followed
  • Participate in KCG’s snow removal operations during snow events
  • Assist with Seasonal Show and temporary exhibit fabrication, installation, and removal as needed
  • Assist with event set up and take down as required
  • Serve as extra staff during peak attendance public events or shows as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Minimum of a high school diploma and/or at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in physical plant maintenance, vehicle maintenance, or construction preferred
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must pass a drug test
