WE WANT YOU!

Yes, this is a bit cliche, but it is absolutely true! Volunteers are pivotal in keeping Kingwood Center Gardens operating. Hundreds of volunteers work throughout the estate doing such critical tasks as gardening, flower arranging, greeting visitors, answering telephone calls, taking reservations, leading tours, promoting memberships, making plant labels, helping with special events, working in the library, and more.

Your volunteer benefits:

  • Free parking every day!
  • 10% discount on workshops & tours
  • 10% discount in the Garden Shop
  • Quarterly newsletter
  • An annual Spring luncheon welcoming all back and discussing the summer's activities and upcoming programs, changes and happenings at Kingwood Center Gardens.
  • An annual covered dish picnic during the summer to get better acquainted with each other and share Kingwood experiences.
  • At the end of the season, volunteers are recognized for their hard work during the year, and are rewarded with an array of delectable goodies made by the Kingwood staff, and a gift of a plant grown in the Kingwood greenhouse.

...and TONS of gratitude to you for making Kingwood a treasure in Richland County!

There are jobs available for anyone, even those who have limitations in mobility, time or gardening expertise!  You will work closely with a staff member who leads the effort, assigns duties and provides guidance and expertise.  Most jobs are typically done on a weekly schedule.
