Kingwood Center Gardens is a charitable not-for-profit 501c(3).

Without private donations, Kingwood would be undistinguished.  With these gifts, as well as memberships, we are able to provide incomparable flower displays, outstanding workshop series, award-winning events, and educational programs for people of all ages.  We take pride in being called "a treasure" of Richland County and Ohio, and with your generous support we will be assured of serving our community for years to come.

* When using the AHS Reciprocal Admissions program, we recommend that you call all gardens ahead of time before you plan your visit. RAP has an 90 mile exclusion rule, which means some gardens within 90 miles of your home or garden of membership may exclude you from the benefit of free admission. Each garden also has its own unique admissions policies, special events, and hours of operation, which is why we recommend checking ahead of time to get the most up to date information.

A percentage of your membership fee is tax deductible. Information for each membership level will be included in a confirmation letter.

If you would like to become a part of the Kingwood Volunteer Community, please look over a sampling of the positions listed below. Volunteers may choose weekly, monthly, seasonal or one-time opportunities.

Garden Volunteer

With over 40 acres of historic grounds to maintain, our horticultural staff is eager for a helping hand. If you have some gardening experience, can tolerate moderate to heavy physical activity and love being outside, then become a garden volunteer!

Garden Volunteers typically work on a weekly basis and are assigned to a lead gardener. It’s a great way to make new friends and get a dose of natural therapy.

Kingwood Hall Hosts/Hostess

Kingwood’s historic mansion is now open 7 days a week for self-guided tours. As an ambassador, you will greet guests, answer basic questions, and help create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. We have visitors from all 50 states and volunteers love getting to know everyone who comes through our doors. This position is great for people who like social interaction but also enjoy quietude and working alone.

Tour Guides

Love history? Have a passion for educating others and sharing the magical experience of Kingwood? Become a Kingwood Tour Guide! Our tour guides lead multiple garden and/or mansion tours during the summer months. Training will be provided.

Weddings

Since becoming a wedding venue in 2012 Kingwood has quickly become one of the areas premier wedding destinations. Wedding Volunteers help make the couple’s day as special as it can be. Positions range from golf-cart driver to mansion host/hostess to liaisons. If you would like to play a part in someone’s garden wedding dream, then sign-up for one of our many weddings this season.

Office Assistant

Want to support Kingwood, but don’t enjoy the heat and toil of the gardens, help our administrative assistant with clerical work: mailing, filing, organizing. Office Assistants are called and scheduled as needed.

Special Events

Kingwood hosts several large events throughout the year which rely on volunteer assistance. Positions are announced as needed.

BENEFITS

As a Kingwood Volunteer you will be eligible for many additional benefits such as: free admission, complimentary workshops, discounts at the greenhouse, an annual “Thank You” luncheon as well as various other volunteer events throughout the year. Volunteer benefits are based on hours of service and change depending on the level of service one has attained.
